Start by chilling the mixing bowl and beaters for a few minutes if possible. This helps the cream whip beautifully.
Pour the cold heavy cream into a large bowl and beat until it becomes thick and forms stiff peaks.
Add the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. Gently fold everything together until smooth and creamy.
If you’re making a fruit-flavored ice cream, fold in the fruit puree. Strawberry, peach, mango, or raspberry work especially well.
Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and smooth the top.
Cover tightly and freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, until firm.
Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before scooping. This makes it easier to serve and gives it an irresistibly creamy texture.
Make Several Flavors at Once
For a fun homemade ice cream selection, divide the base mixture between several containers before adding your flavorings. Try vanilla in one, strawberry in another, and chocolate or mango in a third.
You can also mix in crushed cookies, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, caramel, or fresh fruit.
No complicated equipment, no long ingredient list—just four ingredients and a freezer for wonderfully creamy homemade ice cream!
